This Privacy Policy describes how कtha ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide the Service:

• Account information: name and email address when you create an account.
• Usage data: which stories you've opened, your last reading position, and quiz attempts. This is used only to save your progress.
• Caregiver recordings: audio recordings you create within the app. These are stored securely and associated only with your account.
• Device information: basic device type and operating system version, collected automatically for technical compatibility.

We do not collect precise location data, contacts, camera access, or any data from children under 13 directly. The app is intended for use by caregivers (parents, teachers, guardians) on behalf of children.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To save your reading progress and resume where you left off.
• To store and deliver caregiver recordings you've created.
• To manage your subscription status (free vs. premium).
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

• Service providers: cloud hosting and storage providers who process data strictly on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
• Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Children's Privacy

कtha is designed to be used by caregivers (parents, teachers, guardians) for and with children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. Account creation and all account management is performed by the caregiver. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without caregiver consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@kaatha.app and we will delete it.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Caregiver tab → Delete Account). Upon deletion, your account and associated data are permanently removed within 30 days.

Caregiver recordings are deleted immediately when you remove them in the app, or when your account is deleted.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Stored files and account data are protected using access-controlled cloud storage. While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
